Definition
The singularity (technological singularity) is a hypothetical point in time when AI surpasses general human intelligence and develops itself further. Whether and when this point will be reached is debated among experts. The debate ranges from "in a few decades" to "perhaps never." Practically relevant today is mainly the question of how far current AI is from true general intelligence (AGI).
