AI for teachers in a public school: how Schule Russikon uses Evoya, the Swiss AI platform

Schule Russikon · Project overview ·
The project at a glance
Schule Russikon in the Zurich Oberland uses AI in its public school: all teachers, from kindergarten to lower secondary, work with Evoya, the Swiss AI platform by Evoya AI. The school teaches in its Wettstein, Sunneberg and Madetswil buildings in the canton of Zurich.
The teachers use AI in their everyday school life: preparing lessons and learning material, communicating with parents and handling recurring administrative tasks. Instead of using private accounts in different AI tools, everyone works on one shared platform where the school's data stays protected.

Starting point: AI for teachers, but privacy-compliant
Besides teaching, public school teachers carry many other tasks: preparing learning material for different levels, writing letters to parents, organising events. AI can save a lot of time here. But anyone using private accounts in public AI tools hands over teaching material and correspondence, and the school loses track of where that data ends up.
Schule Russikon therefore wanted to give its teachers shared, secure access to AI that meets the requirements of a public school.
The solution: one AI platform for the whole staff
All teachers get access to the Evoya platform. They use AI wherever it saves time in everyday school life.
Preparing lessons: In Evoya Chat, teachers draft lessons, worksheets and exercises, including versions at different levels of difficulty for different learners.
Communicating with parents: Letters to parents, event information and replies to questions can be written faster and translated into other languages when needed.
Lightening the admin load: AI prepares recurring texts and workflows, and the teacher reviews and approves them. More than 30 AI models are available, including the Swiss model Apertus.
Data protection: Swiss or European AI, never used for AI training
All teachers work on the same platform instead of private accounts. Data is processed with Swiss or European AI, in line with the Swiss FADP and the GDPR, and never used for AI training. This lets Schule Russikon use AI across its whole staff without giving up control over teaching material and correspondence.
Results: more time for the children
- One access for everyone: all teachers use AI on one shared, secure platform.
- Faster preparation: learning material and letters to parents take a fraction of the time.
- Less routine work: AI drafts, the teacher stays in control.
- Data sovereignty: the school keeps control of its data.
